Frequently asked questions
What is Seemant Sanskar?
Seemant Sanskar (Simantonnayana) is a Hindu pregnancy ritual and one of the sixteen sanskars. The family prays for the health of the mother and baby, the husband traditionally parts his wife's hair, and elders bless the mother-to-be with gifts, sweets and new clothes. It is also known as Shrimant, Seemantham and Godh Bharai.
In which month of pregnancy is Seemant Sanskar done?
It is usually celebrated in the seventh or eighth month of pregnancy. Some families perform it in the fourth or sixth month based on family custom and the muhurat suggested by their pandit. Book your decoration once the date is fixed so you get your preferred time slot.
Is Seemant Sanskar the same as Godh Bharai, Shrimant or Seemantham?
They are regional names for the same kind of pregnancy blessing ceremony. It is called Shrimant in Gujarat, Seemantham in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, Valaikappu in Tamil Nadu, Dohale Jevan in Maharashtra and Godh Bharai in North India. Our designs suit all of these celebrations.
What is the price of Seemant Sanskar decoration?
Seemant Sanskar decoration starts at ₹2,399 for an arch setup. Customised backdrop setups cost ₹3,999 to ₹4,499, and larger royal, premium and ceremony decorations range from ₹8,299 to ₹13,999. The price includes the decoration materials and setup, and the final amount for your city is shown at checkout.
Can you do Seemant Sanskar decoration at home in a small flat?
Yes. Most of our Seemant backdrop and arch setups fit against one wall of a living room, leaving space for the puja and guests. Add your wall size and room details in the booking notes and the team will plan the layout accordingly.
Can the decoration be customised with the mother-to-be's name and our family traditions?
Yes. You can add the mother-to-be's name, a welcome or blessing message, preferred colours and backdrop style. Share your family rituals while booking, such as a Gujarati Shrimant or South Indian Seemantham look, and we will match the decoration as closely as possible.
Will the decoration be ready before our muhurat?
When you book, you choose the time window by which the decoration should be ready. Pick a window that ends well before your puja or muhurat time so the family can get ready without any rush.
